Trivia Party With Pterry!

Hey gang, this is not exactly how he pictured it, but the idea for our Friday Party this week comes by way of Webosaurs very own Doggy, it’s a Triva Party with Pterry! Pterry threw a Mystery Party in Sub Alpine Forest a few weeks ago, he had dinos trying to figure out what was going on with the monster he had captured there and then had a blast asking trivia questions and giving out coin codes for correct answers. Well, Pterry has been stockpiling trivia questions since then, he’s got questions about feasting, he’s got questions about dinosaurs, he’s got questions about Webosaurs, but what’s even better is he’s going to allow you to post categories that you’d like him to ask questions about as comments on this blog post. So post categories that you’d like to see as trivia questions and come on down to the Voodoo Hideaway at a special early time at 12 WST for an awesome Trivia Party on Friday! Remember to post what types of questions you’d like to see and to sign up for one or both of the cool contests going on on the Blog. I won’t give away too much and let you discover the Badge System for yourself, but as you go around the Island and achieve certain tasks, like farting a WHOLE lot or being REALLY good at Webosaurs Games, different Badges will unlock and display themselves on your Player Card.

Hey Webo-crew! As you may have noticed there has recently been an update on Webosaurs Island! Wearable Items, New Skeleton Fossil Magic and Badges are all now active, so if you haven’t checked them out you’d better get over to Webosaurs and play with the latest! To celebrate these awesome Wearable Items, we’re going to be having a Webosaurs Costume Party this Sunday at 10:00 am WST. Even if you don’t have any Wearable Items you can still dress up in a wacky combination of armor, but I do expect to see a large number of capes, mohawks, masks and kicks making their way around the party. I can’t wait to see how we all decide to dress-up, I just hope I can recognize you all! Hey gang, what a wild and long weekend we had on Webosaurs Island! In case you missed it we had three outrageous and fun-filled parties this weekend. Friday, our members-only Lost Items Party in the Bluggin’ Beach Bunker was a hit! Pterry hosted a game of trivia and we gave out past holiday items. Almost everyone got to take home a special something!

Saturday, Stretch and Horns hosted an awesome Karaoke party in the Giant Umbrella. I was a little worried there weren’t going to be many dinos there because the Giant Umbrella is a little tough to find in the Understory Layer, but it was PACKED. Dinos had a blast singing their favorite songs and even our old pal REX showed up to sing a couple of hits. Everything was cool and easy until someone opened a can of beans and a deathly cloud of toxic gas cleared the room. SICK.

Sunday was the most outrageous and chaotic day yet. A bunch of dinos gathered on Webo Ridge ready to do battle in an epic Snowball Skirmish Tournament, but due to the massive number of dinos and some issues with the game we were forced to throw a Skirmish Party instead! Luckily, everyone who competed will now be taking home two awesome items. I’m looking forward to a great week on Webosaurs Island, we’ve already got TONS of contestants entered in our Extreme Weather Cave Contest, but don’t worry there’s still time to sign up if you haven’t. We’re going to have a great weekend next weekend too and one cool part of it is going to be a Player’s Choice Party, so stay tuned to the Webosaurs Blog for a poll to vote on your favorite party ideas. Also, I hope to post submissions from our Blog Entry Contest this week! Keep Bluggin’ kids!

Members Only – Lost Items Party – Friday

Hey gang,

We’re going to have a very special lost and found party on Friday. Been bugging Mio about and item for weeks? Missed a party with a special giveaway that you really want? Does Rex owe you an item from months ago? Whatever the reason, come on over to the Bluggin’ Beach Bunker this Friday and get everything you’ve been missing for your cave.

I’ll be there giving away items that I owe everyone and then we’ll have a very special guest host, our very own Pterry playing Webosaurs Trivia for special items that you might have missed out on. Horns' Powerlifting Party!

We conducted a small poll on the Webosaurs Forum today to see if we’d like to have an earlier weekend party so that BOTH the EU and the North American users can make it and the result was an overwhelming YES! That being said, we’re going to have a very special early party this Sunday! More than just a party, we’re going to have a Patagonian Power Lifting Tournament during the party and Horns is going to be there competing! This will not be a team competition, just good old fashioned one-on-one. If you know you are going to be there, leave a comment, but if you want to just show up that’s okay too! At the time of the party we’ll get set up and go head-to-head until we have a group of winners.

I’m sure you’re all wondering, what will the winners get? Well that’s the best part, there are no trophies in this competition… but there are one of a kind gravestones up for grabs! You may have noticed that the Weboween decorations included some awesome gravestones of some of the most famous people in Webosaurs; Rex, Master Marksy, Flyboy, Mischief, Mustafa, Walnut…

Winners will take home certain gravestones, but no one will go home empty handed. DO NOT MISS these special items!

Mystery Party!

Hey Dinos,

Pterry's down for the next party, let's see what he has to say...

EUREKSAURUS! Hey dino friends, Pterry here with some exciting and mysterious news about Webosaurs Island! You may have noticed that some freaky decorations went up for Weboween… including some pretty scary monsters. There are two in particular that I am starting to get a little worried about because there’s no way to tell if they are harmless or if they are in fact dino-eating monsters!

There are some freaky eyeballs in the Soggy Bottom Swamp that could be connected to a bigger, potentially dangerous monster, luckily we haven’t lost any dinos… yet. There is also an extremely large, electric eel in Sub Alpine Forest. I’ve managed to capture it and keep it from growing any larger by zapping it with high voltage electricity. It’s long been considered fact that there is no such thing as a dino-eating monster, but these mysterious creatures need to be checked out…

This Friday I’m going to be hosting a Mystery Party in Sub Alpine Forest… Sure we can play some games and have some fun, but we need to get to the bottom of what this giant eel is and where it came from. The Island could be in danger and I’m going to need all of your help to make sure that we all stay safe. See you on Friday and remember… beware of dino-eating monsters!

Roast Party and the Facts!

You may have heard that Tyrannosaurus Rexes were recently discovered to be cannibalistic. Well, Rexxy sure didn’t take the news lightly, he’s been running around here trying to tell everyone he can that he’s never indulged in a T-Rex snack. I believe him, but it’s still great to make fun of him and well, Rexxy is a pretty good sport, after all he’s been taking ribs from Horns for a LONG time!

To show our appreciation for Rexxy and all that he does around here, we’re going to throw a very special party for him. We’re going to roast our beloved Rexxy! For those of you that aren’t familiar with what a roast is, it’s simple, we’re going to show Rexxy how much we love him by making fun of him! So think back on all your fondest Rexxy memories and get some short arm jokes ready, it’s going to be a blast. Luckily Rexxy has some thick and leathery skin… really. We’ll be hosting the roast on Sunday at noon WST in the Ultrasaurus Tiki Lounge. Get ready to laugh and celebrate our buddy Rexxy!

Here is a daily dino fact posted a few days earlier...

Hey Webosaurs crew, Rexxy here to clear something up… I am NOT a cannibal! Sure, sure Paleontologists have recently discovered T-Rex bite marks on other T-Rex fossils that could only mean that we were feeding on one another. Researchers are not sure if the T-Rexes that were being snacked on were killed in battle or were just found by fellow members of the species that were scavenging, but it is confirmed that T-Rex definitely ate T-Rex. And why not? I think I’d be pretty tasty AND other large carnivores tend to be cannibalistic too! Lions, Hyenas, Alligators and Polar Bears are all known to engage in cannibalism, so it’s not just us.

Still, I promise that I’m not a cannibal, really, If I can resist snacking on Horns, Pterry and Stretch I can resist snacking on members of my own species. Gross. I appreciate these Paleontologists’ hard work, but don’t paint us all with the same brush, just because some of us did it, doesn’t mean we all do! Stop the rumors, help me clear my name!

Pterry's Surprise Birthday Party!

Hey bluggin’ dinos we’ve got an awesome event going down this Saturday, but we need your help! You may or may not know that Pterry’s Birthday was last Sunday, but we weren’t able to plan a party for him because of all the preparation for the MVAs Ceremony on Saturday. Pterry’s been pretty bummed all week, especially when I told him that we are throwing a party for international users on Friday and not for him. To make it up to him I told him he could throw a Quiz Party on Saturday… he has NO idea we’re going to surprise him!

Pterry’s going to throw his “Quiz Party” on Saturday at Jungle Beach, but he’ll be a little bit late. We need you all to show up and hide out over by Stretch’s Surf Shop, then when Pterry shows up we’ll all hop out and yell “SURPRISE!” and maybe throw a couple of bananas at him for good measure! Don’t miss out, it’s going to be a blast, everyone who attends will also receive a special birthday cake for their cave!

Daily Dino Fact!

Yo dinos! This is really more suitable for a Pterry’s True Science but Horns accidently dropped a boulder on him so he’s out of commission for a while (be sure to give Horns grief about that at the party on Friday). So… without further ado, let’s get to it. Paleontologists found something very cool today. In Southern Utah, they found two new species of Ceratopsian dinosaurs, closely related to Triceratops. One of them had 15 horns on its head and is the most decorated dinosaur of its kind ever found!

To add to the crazy number of horns it had, they gave the dinosaurs the most ridiculous name ever! Kosmoceratops, how crazy is that? Makes me think of a space dinosaur. Of course… looking at this guy, it would make sense. Each horn is between 6 inches (15.2 cm) and 1 foot long (30.5 cm)! For so many horns, you would think it wouldn’t look like a combover. Hah!

The Webosaurs Music Video Awards (MVAs) are finally upon us! Starting Friday, the Island is going to be decorated like crazy for this TWO WEEK Music Festival! That’s not the only thing coming:

• Crazy parties featuring the Webosaurs dinos and Celebrity guest parties!
• Brand New Dance Animations you can buy in Jungle Beach
• Submit your best Music Videos on Webosaurs Island for the chance to win a 2010 MVA trophy award!

We’re going to be taking your submissions for the MVAs on the Webosaurs Forum. Make a music video with your friends and shoot in on Webosaurs Island. Add your submission on the Forum to be eligible to win one of the coveted MVA trophies in many different categories.

To help you make some killer music videos, we’ve added Dance Animations to buy in the Bluggin’ Beach Bunker in Jungle Beach. These dances will be for member’s only so pick one up if you don’t have one already!

Celebrity guests and special parties will be happening throughout the MVAs so be sure to check the blog often for announcements of all these crazy events. We’ll be giving away cool cave items and partying hard!

Daily Dino Fact!

Today’s Daily Dino fact comes courtesy of a question by Optimas, “Out of all Dinos, who was the biggest to ever live?” While the definition of “biggest” is up to a certain amount of interpretation, it is generally safe to say that a Sauropod was the biggest. Argentinosaurus (translated to Argetina Lizard, named after the country in which it was found), is generally thought to be the heaviest dino, weighing over 100 tons. Another Sauropod, Sauroposeidon, was most certainly the tallest, but enough about Sauropod’s, today’s Daily Dino Fact is going to focus on a couple other, less-celebrated, dinos that could be considered the BIGGEST for other reasons.

That's no small Pterry!

The biggest Pterosaur was called Quetzalcoatlus and it had a wingspan of up to 45 feet, that’s more than 5 times bigger than a Bald Eagle! Check it out next to that sedan, I think I’d just take the bus if that guy was hanging out by my car. Seriously, that is one freaky, giant prehistoric bird! There is still some debate as to whether this bad-boy flew or walked around on two legs, but if it did get airborne it was by far the largest animal ever to take to the skies. Just remember if you see a giant flying shadow when you’re outside today, it’s probably just an airplane and not a Quetzalcoatlus sneak attack!

Giant Cow-Frog?

One of my all-time favorites won’t win any beauty contests, but the biggest Therapsid ever was called Moschops. Therapsid literally means, “mammal-like reptile,” and that’s exactly what the Moschops were, they mostly grazed on short vegetation like cows… but then had outward sprawling front limbs, like lizards or frogs. Weird. These guys did get a little feisty and are thought to have butted heads like mountain goats, so never stand between two Moschops!

MVA Palooza!

You might have heard the rumors swirling around Webosaurs Island that there’s going to be an epic party this Saturday to kick off the MVAs (There will be more information coming soon about the MVAs, but they are going to be Music Video Awards for videos that YOU DINOS make, so get your thinking caps on). Well, it’s true, there is going to be an epic party this Saturday. We knew we wanted to have a concert, there was just one problem… Everyone wanted to perform, Rexxy, Horns, Pterry and Stretch all wanted a piece of the spotlight and their own stage! So there was only one logical thing to do right? Build four stages, well, that’s exactly what we did. That’s right, come on down to Webosaurs Island on Saturday for Webo-pallooza the MVAs Kick-off party and see each of your four favorite characters rocking out in the Geyser, Sub Alpine Forest, Croc. Peninsula and Sonoran Sands.

Webopallooza is just the beginning. MVA decorations will be up all over Webosaurs Island for two weeks until the actual MVAs on October 2nd, it’s going to be a non-stop party, so I hope you’re ready!

Oh waitttt, did I mention the sick giveaway item that you’ll get at the party? Oh, whoops, well that’s right everyone who comes to Webopallooza will receive this beautiful MVA guitar. Yee haw!

Daily Dino Fact!

Hey Dinos,

EB's in charge of DDF today. Let's see what she has to say!

This is a story of an Allosaurus found in North America. 95% of his Bones were found well preserved. But he died not even full-grown and the bones were found in the same position of which he had died in. He has Many Injuries and some were found even healing. One severe injury was a swollen foot, but overall he had 11 broken bones in total. Rib injuries were thought to have been made by the whip of a diplodocus’ tail, and yet he broke his tail by falling down. Ripped arms could have been cause by fighting a female Allosaur. Females are much large and more aggressive than males. But even though big Al too all these injures he got killed by a drought, dying next to a dried up river bed, but he could have died of starvation because the swollen toe would have ended his hunting days. He died just at the age of six, not even reaching adulthood. This was an extraordinary creature, but a sad story.

Recently on Webosaurs Gang, a petition started to push the Spike release back. Here is more information from Webosaurs Gang...

Recently, Webosaurs has been making a lot of decisions that a lot of us don’t agree with, the main one being coming out with Spike now. Spike has been pushing a lot of updates back. We feel that Webosaurs hasn’t planned their updates out well, and we need them to start listening to us more. Most of us feel that putting Webosaurs on Miniclip was a great idea, but it wasn’t the right time to do it. Webosaurs did it at the wrong time and hasn’t given these new dinos a reason to stay. We believe that Webosaurs should put all their focus on the forum, multiplayer battle arenas, and wearable items. Most of us think that Spike is cool, but he isn’t needed at this point and hasn’t been hyped up enough. If you agree with this and believe that the best thing for Webosaurs to do is postpone spike, please leave a comment below with your Webosaurs name, so we can add you to this list.

Prepare for a night of laughs because it’s almost time for another Comedy Night here on Webosaurs!

Let’s face it. It’s hard to come up with new, funny jokes every Comedy Night. This Comedy Night will be a bit different because now we’re specifically looking for corny jokes. Come prepared with the cheesiest, lamest jokes you can think of and have a great time laughing about how un-funny we all are! And since we’re not competing for the best joke, everyone that tells a joke wins. All participants will have a Pirate Flag delivered to their cave as a participation prize.

The Corny Joke Matinee is Saturday, September 4th at 12:00 WST. Meet in the Lizard Lounge on Jurassic server. Remember that each dino gets one turn to tell a joke. Dinos will be called up by name to come on the stage and show off their lack of comedy skillz. Please do not go on the stage unless it is your turn.

Pterry's True Science

Hey Dinos,

Pterry has a fact to share...

EUREKASAURUS! It’s time again for another edition of Pterry’s True Science!

As we learned a few months back , the debate over the cause of the extinction of the dinosaurs has finally come to a close. A group of 41 paleontologists and scientists concluded that a giant asteroid slamming into the Earth is now the universally accepted explanation.

However, new evidence has come to light that suggests that two asteroid crashes may have been responsible for the extinction. The Chicxulub Crater in the Gulf of Mexico was the site of the originally discovered asteroid crash. A second site, the newly discovered Boltysh Crater in Ukraine, may prove that multiple asteroids crashes led to the extinction of the dinosaurs. Yikes!

The impacts at the Chicxulub Crater and Boltysh Crater took place thousands of years apart from one another, but still close enough together to raise some questions. Some scientists speculate that an entire shower of asteroids may have struck Earth around 65 million years ago. If that’s the case, expect to hear about more impact sites in the future!

Such a fascinating discovery, but now it’s time for me to get back to my research!

Webo Crew’s 15,000 hits and Harvest was market by a brilliant party! Here's a review from Chillsaurus...

First we went to Bucklands Peak and we had a quiz with countries and then we went to Tonto Plateau for some Dance Party!! Ldude even gaves us a coin code but it had a twist the last letter was missing! Redblue eventually got it but it turned out another dino had gotten it and kept quiet!! wierd or what then we went to Sub-Alpine Forest for some wood chop! we then went to Giant Umbrella for some food and Ldude even gave out a coin code and that marked the end of the party!!

Horns' Banana War party!

Here is some information from Rex...

Juiceking dropped this by my desk today, said he drew it at the request of the dinos. Haha, what do you think?

Speaking of Horns, he’s coming by the Island on Saturday to challenge everyone to a BANANA WAR. Horns thinks he’s a pretty tough guy, and says that you don’t stand a chance against him. Are you going to just let that go? I didn’t think so. Especially when he’s wearing a tutu like that.

Still, you might be a Horns and want to hold it down for your kind. And trust me, Horns is going to need all the help he can get. So whether you support Horns or are against him, the war will be going down this Saturday at the Carnivorous Cavern (although who knows where it might end up from there).

I hope this note finds you all doing well. Depending on your geographic location you might be enjoying a hot summer or chilly winter but either way I trust you are fantastic!

We have been working very hard on bringing several new awesome features to you in an effort to enhance your experience on Webosaurs Island. Everything is almost ready to launch! I hope you will enjoy all of the SAWEET updates coming to the coolest island in the ocean!

While we finish working on the updates I want to ask a favor from each of you and your parents, if they want to participate. The task is pretty easy…here you go…TELL US WHAT YOU WANT WEBOSAURS TO DO BETTER. WHAT ARE WE MISSING? WHAT TYPES OF UPDATES DO YOU WANT? I hope to hear from each of you as we are building a unique virtual world that depends on players such as yourself to keep the world evolving!

No one knows science better than he does, so he’ll be testing your knowledge to the max. He’ll be asking questions from ANY Daily Dino Fact I’ve ever written, along with questions from the Pterry’s True Science series that he sometimes does on the blog.

Family Feud Review!

Hey Dinos,

After a complete team reshuffle, Family Feud ended like this...

1st - VGM and Cyclon
2nd- Dukster and Optimas

VGM and Cyclon were leading 2-0 until Dukster's team pulled a point back. After, VGM's team won the fourth round, they won the game and take a coin code each.

Then came the after-party! We hung out at the Prairie Pool chomping away at our nachos with Ordo challenging us to a game of Wookey Lanes.

Beta Surprise!

Hey Dinos,

At approximately 13:00 WST, Webosaurs went back to beta. Everyone was deproed and lost their blogosaur status. However, dinos who weren't betas and went through the ordeal will not have beta badges. This happened completely out of the blue and Jonzi didn't plan it!

Song and Dance Party

This weekend is a Song and Dance Party weekend! We’re kicking off the two day celebration with a KARAOKE night and following up on Saturday with a DANCE PARTY tournament. Put on your dancing shoes and clear your throat for a fun weekend ahead.


Karaoke Night
A party chosen by you! Karaoke Night will work just like Comedy Night. Everyone who comes to the party will have a chance to get up on the stage and sing a few lines of their favorite song. You can even invite some friends to come up for backing vocals, or do a duet! At the end of the party, the guest judges will pick the top 3 performances and award coins and cheesey trophies.

Where: Lizard Lounge (in Webo Ridge), Jurassic Server


When: Friday, July 30th – 14:00 WST


Dance Party Tournament
Day two of the Song and Dance Weekend is an all out Dance Party Tournament. No sign ups, just show up for the event and we’ll do groups of three. A mod will be in game for each one to referee the scores. We’ll just keep going until it filters down to two people left for a final. All dances will be held on hard mode and the tournament will be single elimination. We’ll be meeting in Buckland’s Peak and all dinos will stay in the peak unless their name is called for a round. After the round all dinos are to head back to Buckland’s Peak until it is their turn again.

Winners of the Dance Party Tournament will be getting the coveted Raptor Trophies!

Crocodile: The New Dino Avatar

Hey guys, I am 100% sure that the new dino will be a crocodile. You wanna know why? Well first of all, I saw Juanpare testing out the new dino on the Test Site and it looked very similar to a crocodile. Plus, the Webosars blog states that a crocodile is a dinosaur. Also, from all the hints Rex and Flyboy have gave us, the crocodile matches all them perfectly. It is green, heavy, floats (crocs can float on water)! I am positive that the new dino will be a croc, because I have seen it being tested out on the Test Site and it matches all the things Flyboy and Rex stated. Plus, I am the only one to have seen the new dino except Rex, Flyboy and the other Devs.

Q: What was the fiercest prehistoric cat of them all? -Irvine

A: Well well well, Irvine. This is a great question. Obviously, sabre toothed cats and wooly mammoths and the like came long after the time of the dinosaurs, in the Early Pleistocene. You bring up a great point about the cats though, because most everyone knows about the famed Smilodon AKA “sabre toothed tiger” but did you know there were many other sabre toothed cats at this time?

There are at least 40 known genera of sabre toothed cats from the Pleistocene, and not all of them even come from the same family! For some reason, multiple groups of mammals evolved to have giant sharp teeth protruding out of their mouths. Nature has a funny way of experimenting with ways to eat other animals!

We can’t really say for sure which one was the MOST fierce, because you have to admit they’re all pretty gnarly. We’d have to go with Smilodon though, as they were the biggest of all of them. Some of them weighed up to 1,200 lbs (500 kg) !! That is how much a grizzly bear can weigh. Yeah, these guys were nasty. Add giant teeth that grew to 11 inches (28 cm) long and you’ve got a prehistoric killing machine on your hands.

Well guys, the Cowasaurus has finally left Webosaurs Island, he has been here for one unforgettable week. From the grassburgers to random rampages, the Cowasaurus will always be in our heart. Hahaha, don't you love the mushy talk? Do not worry because Cowasaurus will be coming back but not for a while.
